Formula 90 Brake Pads Launched!

Formula 90 is a new brake pad range from Brake Engineering. Featuring a new friction material formulation for Brake Engineering, which has been designed with both performance and consistency in mind, Formula 90 pads have a composition matched specifically to each vehicle type and axle, in order to optimise safety, service life and comfort.

Speaking of the new range, Brake Engineering’s Marketing Manager Kevin Price said: “Drivers need assurance that they will stop safely and predictably when hitting the brakes. Consistent performance is paramount. As brakes are repeatedly applied brake fade can set in, resulting in a deterioration in performance and hence stopping distances can increase and become less predictable. Formula 90 has a remarkably stable performance with reduced fade across the test cycle.

Price continued “During recent tests, Formula 90 brake pads performed in a more consistent manner than other aftermarket brands tested. In  a cycle of 10 stops from 100kph, Formula 90 had a difference of only 3.32 metres between the shortest and longest stopping distances, whilst a leading OE manufacturers aftermarket pads had a variation of 10.18 metres and an aftermarket budget brand a massive 15.7 metres, which is equivalent to around 4 times the length of a family hatchback.”

Formula 90 brake pads are matching OE quality and as such have an anti squeal coating to reduce noise and are designed to be a direct replacement for the original parts. The range of Formula 90 brake pads covers all of the most popular vehicles in the UK and are manufactured to meet stringent EU standards in a state of the art factory.

Concluding Price said “For over 30 years Brake Engineering has been recognised as one of the leading remanufacturers and suppliers of calipers, discs, drums and hydraulics to the aftermarket. The launch of the Formula 90 brake pad range gives customers access to a brake pad formulation which combines the value that Brake Engineering are known for with a quality that mechanics can fit with confidence.

The launch of Formula 90 will be accompanied by a new catalogue, although to keep it simple for customers, the part numbers for each application will remain the same. The full range will also be included on both MAM and TecDoc systems.
